On 28th February and 1st March 2017, Castilla-La Mancha will host an expert workshop on steppe bird protection and the farming sector. Participants from different countries will debate on successful experiences on the reconciliation of farming production and biodiversity conservation, especially steppe birds.
This event is held within the LIFE Estepas de La Mancha project, whose objective is to contribute to protect the steppe birds in the Castile-La Mancha region and to promote sustainable farming production. Fundación Global Nature and the Castile-La Mancha Regional Government continue through this project the collaboration they have developed through successful initiatives like LIFE La Mancha wetlands. This initiative is supported by the LIFE financial instrument of the European Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment through the Biodiversity Foundation, and the city councils of Villacañas, Lillo, Madridejos, Mota del Cuervo and Pedro Muñoz.
