Land Stewardship

We have signed stewardship agreements with the owners of natural terrains in order to carry out joint actions that help to make production and conservation compatible. In figures, Fundación Global Nature manages a surface area of territory under stewardship in excess of 8 000 hectares, of which more than 300 Ha are owned by the Global Nature Foundation and 5 000 Ha are within protected spaces (Biosphere Reserves, Natural Parks, Natura 2000, etc.).

The Foundation has signed 126 agreements with landowners in Extremadura, Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha, and Valencia. The actions carried out include: creation of cattle pools, cultivation of legumes, establishment of ecological infrastructures (such as hedgerows or boundaries), construction of drystone dykes for rabbits, re-afforestation, preparation of ploughing calendars compatible with nesting times, planting of productive trees under organic conditions or the installation of nesting platforms.
