General information

We are partners of this Innovation Partnership (IP) that works in the adaptation of quality durum wheat in the Region of Castilla y León under criteria of profitability, sustainability and efficiency, with the main objective of developing the crop according to fundamental agronomic criteria that allow introducing durum wheat in irrigated crop rotations.

In this Innovation Partnership, through the training of technicians of cooperatives and transformation companies, the cultivation and the tests carried out (evaluation of qualities, cultivation cycle, etc.) with 36 varieties of durum wheat (440 ha) will be disclosed.

Our contribution is focused on improving the sustainability of the crop through biodiversity assessments, with the BPT tool, to develop a proposal for Good Agricultural Practices, a guide and a proposal for measures for supply codes for quality durum wheat. And through a study of the crop's vulnerability to climate change to propose sustainable measures of adaptation to climate change that increase the resilience of this crop in the expected climate change scenarios.

This Innovation Partnership is financed by the Junta de Castilla y León (General Directorate of Competitiveness of the Agri-Food Industry and the Agrarian Company of the Council of Agriculture and Livestock) through the FEADER (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) funds of the EU.
