In order to improve the water quality and the fauna populations that live in Valencian coastal wetlands, we will carry out different restoration works in the Marjal dels Moros, Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Natural Park, the Marjal de Pego-Oliva NP and the El Hondo NP.
The works are approved in advance for the wetlands managers, thus helping to cover important needs for their management.
Remark the planned works to adapt canals to restore water flows and the repair of old abandoned infrastructures that could cause flooding. These measures also help to connect the wetlands with the natural drainage channels to the sea and to create resting and feeding areas for waterfowl.
At the same time, we will carry out a monitoring of the birds in the migration time or the monitoring of the European freshwater turtles outside their hibernation season, which will also serve to evaluate the state of "health" in which these ecosystems are.
