Children as protagonists of environmental education

In June, the environmental education days have also continued with informative talks on LIFE Wetlands4Climate and the description of the project’s actions in Castilla y León. Thus, on 9 June 2022, two talks were held at the C.E.I.P. San Agustín in the town of Fuentes de Nava (Palencia) where a total of 20 primary school pupils participated.

The talks were given in two sessions, one for students in 3rd and 4th grade of Primary School and the other for students in 5th and 6th grade, which allowed them to learn first-hand about the importance of wetlands in Tierra de Campos and how they are not only one of the main reservoirs of biodiversity, but also our allies in the fight against the effects of climate change. The 1st and 2nd year students also received the student’s notebooks. From 6 to 9 June, the travelling exhibition of the project was on display in the school foyer and approximately 60 people, including teachers, students and other visitors, were able to get to know the project.
