On March 2nd, LIFE Wetlands4Climate was presented in the framework of the Virtual LIFE Platform Meeting: “Lessons from LIFE projects on ecological connectivity: towards a coherent, functional and resilient network of protected areas”.
LIFE Wetlands4Climate highlights a new opportunity to finance the restoration of wetlands as sinks through the Voluntary Carbon Market.
In addition, on March 4th, in a plenary session of this Platform, with more than 265 participants from all over Europe working in biodiversity conservation, a presentation was made on private financing mechanisms for nature conservation, such as sustainable agri-food products, Voluntary Carbon Market and Corporate Social Responsibility.
