class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"entradilla\"><p>El proyecto LIFE Wetlands4Climate (W4C) invertir\u00e1 m\u00e1s de 2 millones de euros durante los pr\u00f3ximos cuatro a\u00f1os para poner en valor el papel de los humedales como sumideros de carbono y reductores de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) en la atm\u00f3sfera, de acuerdo con un comunicado del consorcio promotor.<\/p><\/div><p>Impulsado por el\u00a0<strong>programa LIFE de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea<\/strong>, este proyecto validar\u00e1 una metodolog\u00eda para cuantificar los intercambios de GEI y servir\u00e1 al objetivo de pol\u00edticas clim\u00e1ticas de uso de la tierra, cambio de uso de la tierra y silvicultura (LULUCF por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p><p>El objetivo es generar datos sobre el secuestro de carbono en humedales que, entre otros fines, contribuir\u00e1n a alimentar los an\u00e1lisis del Panel Intergubernamental de Cambio Clim\u00e1tico (IPCC), as\u00ed como a elaborar pautas de gesti\u00f3n que incrementen su papel como sumideros.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section purificaci\u00f3n del agua que alimenta a otros ecosistemas y rellena los acu\u00edferos subterr\u00e1neos, \u201cesenciales en el entorno mediterr\u00e1neo\u201d teniendo en cuenta la escasez de agua y las sequ\u00edas que afronta \u201cde forma cr\u00f3nica\u201d la pen\u00ednsula Ib\u00e9rica.\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A pesar de ello, los impulsores del proyecto\u00a0 recuerdan que los humedales est\u00e1n desapareciendo tres veces m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido que los bosques, seg\u00fan estudios de diversos organismos cient\u00edficos, que alertan adem\u00e1s de que su degradaci\u00f3n puede llevarles a dejar de almacenar grandes cantidades de carbono para empezar a emitirlo, \u201ccon las consecuencias que esto conlleva para el calentamiento global\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section interior- distribuidos por la pen\u00ednsula Ib\u00e9rica con el fin de que sean representativos.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section experimental que eval\u00fae en detalle las caracter\u00edsticas y condiciones iniciales de cada uno de ellos, lo que permitir\u00e1 definir las mejores acciones de gesti\u00f3n de manejo, incluyendo las de suelo, agua y vegetaci\u00f3n, dando prioridad a las que tengan mayor efecto sobre el ciclo del carbono y, en consecuencia, la capacidad de los humedales para el secuestro del carbono.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section proyectos de restauraci\u00f3n financiados por fondos para la conservaci\u00f3n, con la idea de \u201cacelerar las sinergias entre la sociedad y el mundo econ\u00f3mico\u201d e impulsar el tr\u00e1nsito hacia una econom\u00eda descarbonizada.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section permiten implicar al sector privado en proyectos de restauraci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n sostenible, no se llevar\u00edan a cabo las inversiones previstas en conservaci\u00f3n de humedales que mitigan el cambio clim\u00e1tico, seg\u00fan el comunicado.<\/p><p>De hecho, actividades de certificaci\u00f3n y verificaci\u00f3n de emisiones como las contempladas en este proyecto \u201cimplican en s\u00ed mismas la puesta en marcha de nuevos modelos\u201d de negocio, de actividades de consultor\u00eda y generaci\u00f3n de empleo.<\/p><p>Por ello, los impulsores de esta iniciativa la consideran \u201cuna oportunidad \u00fanica para generar fondos para la conservaci\u00f3n de la Naturaleza\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
