General information

The dehesa is a characteristic ecosystem of the Iberian Peninsula that is characterised by its enormous natural wealth and great scenic beauty. Fundación Global Nature is working with Pernod Ricard to improve the biodiversity of the Hazas del Destete estate, where the wine and spirits brand's main production centre is located in the municipality of Las Labores (Ciudad Real).

The Hazas del Destete estate covers 44 hectares and has holm oaks, kermes oaks and ponds of special ecological value. The project focuses on drawing up a strategic plan for the restoration and protection of these areas, with the aim of developing a roadmap for improvements in the natural environment, coordinated locally with other agents in the area.

The Las Labores factory, inaugurated in 1984, exports liqueurs and wines to more than 60 countries around the world. The Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) will pay special attention to the enhancement of this meadow and the restoration of its associated biodiversity.
