General information

From this centre we coordinate the conservation and environmental education projects in Extremadura. Located in Torrejón El Rubio (Cáceres), close to Monfragüe National Park and inside the Biosphere Reserve.

We organize interpretive routes through the National Park and the Biosphere Reserve, specific workshops and visits to various projects, such as the conservation programme for local cattle breeds: merina negra sheep, blanca cacereña cows, and different hen breeds (negra castellana, andaluza azul, castellana codorniz and andaluza negra barrada). The programme is carried out on our farm "El Baldío", a 232- hectare “dehesa” (agro-sylvo-pastoral farm) located in the municipality of Talaván, where the demonstrative management is based on uses that maximize the conservation of its natural values.

This centre is a hostel and has 60 places, we offer programs and activities related to our activity. If you are interested in staying, take into account the best dates:

LOW SEASON: from June 1 to September 14 and from January 1 to 31.

HIGH SEASON: from February 1 to May 31 and from September 15 to December 31.
