The House Museum of the Boada lagoon is located in the center of Boada de Campos, a small town located in Palencia (Castilla y León). For the construction of this Educational Center, an old 18th century manor house, called La Panera del Obispo, was restored.
This building, with more than 150 years old, gathers the typical characteristics of Tierra de Campos architecture: rampart walls, solid brick buttresses, wooden cover and Arab tile.
The building, rectangular in shape, has a floor of 150 m2, also having 200 m2 of patio. Inside it there is a room dedicated to exhibitions of 115 m2, where various interpretive and photographic exhibitions are held alluding to the biological importance of the wetlands, fauna and flora of the lagoons, as well as their history.
The objective of this museum is to improve the quality of public use of the Boada de Campos lagoon, disseminating the values of wetlands and carrying out environmental education that takes advantage of wetlands and their communities of living beings as a valuable resource, as well as in order to absorb the increasing number of visitors that has been taking place in the Boada lagoon since its restoration in 1998.
For this, the Casa Museo de la laguna de Boada has different interpretative elements inside.
