General information

In collaboration with ECOEMBES we developed a project to recover the threatened agricultural biodiversity in La Mancha, El Hierro Island, Comunidad Valenciana, Galicia and Madrid.

We work with schools to create biodiversity gardens as educational spaces where we teach children about organic matter recycling to produce compost, and about food production; we reuse plastic containers for example as seedbeds, we use organic cultivation techniques and sustainable production systems and we introduce concepts of agricultural varieties that have been traditionally cultivated in their villages.

Our activities include the creation of a seed bank of local and regional varieties, recycling and composting workshops, developing materials such as a local varieties brochures, and handbooks for teachers and schoolchildren.
