Education and communication
We have a highly skilled and enthusiastic staff that through different educational activities and working with the media transfers knowledge to the different groups that are present in the wetlands (primary sector, tourism, industries) and raises awareness in society to achieve a better relationship between the population and these ecosystems.
An efficient communication and strategies to transform knowledge into actions are key in every project. We create training materials, exhibitions, or social media campaigns, addressed to wetlands managers or specialized groups. Through environmental education we seek to communicate to the local population around wetlands basic concepts related to the importance of conserving natural resources and biodiversity in order to ensure their correct management and protection. All our projects include a strong educational component.
This work also has an international component through networks and partners. We are members of Wetlands International, and Living Lakes network. We have organised international events such as the Living Lakes 2019 conference focusing on Wetlands and Climate Change and participated in European lake management training programmes, such as Learning for Lakes, led by the UK Environment Agency.
